Lure Anglers' Society - Three Shires Chapter
4th Meeting of the Three Shires Chapter of the Lure Anglers' Society held at the Hobby Horse pub, Glebe Way, Syston, Leicestershire at 8 p.m. on Wednesday 7rd February 2000
Present and apologies
Present: Guy Atkinson, Terry Buncher (plus 3), David Eggington, Pete Felstead, David Hughes, Hugh Middleton, Tim Moran, Bob Tweedle, Penny Warman, Eric Weight
Apologies: None received
New Members
We welcomed Terry Buncher and three of his mates, Hugh Middleton and David Eggington. Hugh travelled far from Lincoln to join us and has offered to share his knowledge of the zander on the Cut-off and Middle Level. Daves wide experience of coarse fish on the fly was very evident and he found us a willing and enquiring audience.
Fish-in at Hollowell Resevoir
The second fish-in (and recce day) at Hollowell Reservoir was fishless despite the best efforts of our two local guides, Phil Pratt and Wayne Nixon. At least the deadbaiters found it heavy going too. We abandoned the reservoir in the face of a howling north-westerly and saved a blank by stopping off at the river Soar and Grand Union. Thanks to Phil, Wayne, Bob, Penny, Eric, Pete, Steve & Hazel for making a fun couple of days.

Oh yes, Graham Cornish will be there to champion pike on the fly. Gordon Griffiths are sponsoring the event. www.gordon-griffiths.co.uk
